Which party do you match?
16 questions on issues and priorities. You get a score from 0 (most liberal) to 100 (most conservative) and a label from Democrat to Republican.
How the quiz decides
Every question comes from national surveys by Pew Research Center or Gallup, so we know how Democrats, Republicans and independents actually answer it. Each answer is placed on a line from the most liberal response to the most conservative one. Questions that divide the parties more sharply count more toward your score.
The labels: 0 to 32 Democrat, 33 to 44 Moderate Democrat, 45 to 54 Independent, 55 to 66 Moderate Republican, 67 to 100 Republican. We tested the cutoffs on 12,000 simulated respondents built from the survey answers: 95% of Democrats and 96% of Republicans landed on their own side of the line.
Ranking questions start in a random order, so the starting order never nudges your result.
